OpenAire: Open Research Data Pilot The Open Research Data Pilot aims to make the research data generated by selected Horizon 2020 projects accessible with as few restrictions as possible, while at the same time protecting sensitive data from inappropriate access. Projects participating in the Horizon 2020 Open Research Data Pilot will be required to develop several versions of a Data Management Plan (DMP), in which they will specify what data will be kept for the longer term. Other projects are invited to submit a Data Management Plan if it is relevant for their planned research. DMPTuuli offers DMP template that match the demands and suggestions of the Guidelines on Data Management in Horizon 2020.
OECD: Making Open Science a Reality
Open science commonly refers to efforts to make the output of publicly funded research more widely accessible in digital format to the scientific community, the business sector, or society more generally. Open science is the encounter between the age-old tradition of openness in science and the tools of information and communications technologies (ICTs) that have reshaped the scientific enterprise and require a critical look from policy makers seeking to promote long-term research as well as innovation.
The Academy of Finland promotes open access to research
"When applying for funding from the Academy, researchers must include in their research plans a publication plan and a data management plan...We recommend that Academy -funded researchers also investigate the possibility of long -term storage of data. Our recommendation is that research data are stored and made available through major national or international repositories , such as:
