Scival in short

Scival is a powerful tool for analyzing research performance for different purposes like decision making or strategic planning. Scival is updated weekly. Scival's four modules  - Overview, Benchmarking, Collaboration and Trends - enable analysis for different kind of purposes and from different kind of point of views.

Scival offers:

  • 15  different metrics including field normalized metrics

  • analysis using 27 main categories and/or 334 subcategories for journals in  Scopus

  • analysis of different levels like researcher, research group, research institute or country (= entities)

  • analysis of different publication types (articles, reviews, conference papers, editorials, short surveys, books)

It is also possible to create own research groups or fields of research. Scival enables to save pictures, graphs and maps  in pdf-, excel- or picture (e.g. jpg) format. In My Scival entities can be shared inside organization with other Scival users.

Research overview

Overview of the  production of publications and citation analysis e.g.

It is also possible to analyse research competencies and trends of an entity in interest. Time span options in Overview-module are three and five years.

Research benchmarking

 

In Benchmarking-module it is possible to compare and  benchmark research entities using 15 different metrics. Metrics can flexible be changed between and simultaneously as many as three variables  (metrics) can be chosen to be examined.

Time span in Benchmark module can freely be defined from 1996.

 

Research collaboration

Collaboration-module gives information about collaboration of an entity in interest all over the world. Also searching for new research partners is possible. User can flexible change from collaboration module to benchmarking module. 

Time span options in Overview-module are three and five years.

Research trends

Examine top performers and rising stars in your Research AreasDiscover hot topics through keyphrase analysis. See top authors, institutions, Scopus sources and countries. Choose either three or five year period.
