Kokotekstiartikkelit ovat käytettävissä

  • Oulun yliopiston tai ammattikorkeakoulun verkkoon kytketyltä tietokoneelta
  • VPN-yhteydellä 
  • korkeakoulun verkon ulkopuolella kirjautumalla Oulun yliopiston tai Oamkin tunnuksella.
    • Saattaa välillä antaa Oletko robotti -herjoja (CAPTCHA). Käytä silloin muita tapoja, esim. alla mainittua kirjastolinkkiä.

Kirjastolinkit / Library links

  1. Mene Google Scholariin https://scholar.google.com/ ilman korkeakoulun etäkäyttöosoitetta.
  2. Klikkaa vasemman yläkulman hampurilaispainiketta eli symbolia, jossa on kolme päällekkäistä vaakaviivaa, ja valitse Asetukset/Settings.
  3. Valitse Kirjastolinkit / Library links.
  4. Hae oulu-sanalla.
  5. Paina rivinvaihtonäppäintä eli Enter-painiketta tai klikkaa suurennuslasisymbolia.
  6. Valitse University of Oulu - Full text... TAI Oulu University of Applied Sciences - Fulltext...
  7. Klikkaa Tallenna/Save.

  8. Kun tulosjoukossa klikkaa linkkiä, ohjaudutaan kokotekstipalveluun ja HAKA-kirjautumisen kautta tietokantaan, jossa kokoteksti sijaitsee.

  • off campus by logging in using University of Oulu or Oamk username (Haka Login)

  2. select Settings
  3. select Library links
  4. in Show library access links for search Oulu
  5. choose University of Oulu... OR Oulu University of Applied Sciences... and Save.

Finding variations of a word

Wildcards not be used

- no additional symbol required to find alternative endings for search terms

Double quotation marks = exact phrase
- the singular form of a word does not retrieve the plural form in phrases

Placeholder for a word

* Fill in the blank. Add an asterisk within a search as a placeholder for any unknown or wildcard terms. Use with quotation marks to find variations of that exact phrase or to remember words in the middle of a phrase.

"energy * policy"

> e.g. energy technology innovation policy
Operators

Search terms are automatically combined using AND.

OR (must be in capital letters)


- (hyphen) excludes word or site in the results

Tips

It's possible to use boolean search strings with OR operators and parentheses in basic search (NB: search terms / phrases are automatically combined using AND).

Word order matters. Google ranks the first word slightly higher than the second, the second slightly more than the third, etc.
