Why an UFO user can’t be found in Laturi?

A person who has no contract in the University of Oulu, but has a justified reason to use IT services for the staff through temporary UFO user account does not appear automatically as part of the staff members found in Laturi. Therefore, a person with a UFO user account cannot be automatically added as a main supervisor, supervisor or reviewer in Laturi, even if they are able to log into the system. Adding them to Laturi must be requested from Laturi support.

Adding UFO users to Laturi

UFO users can be added to Laturi as follows:

  1. Ensure that the person has applied for an UFO user account in accordance with ICT’s instructions and that the account is valid.
  2. The programme-specific nominated Approver informs Laturi support (laturi@oulu.fi) the following details of the person to be added:
    • Firstname Lastname (e.g. Jaakko Testitunnus)
    • User name (e.g. jatestit24)
  3. Laturi support will notify them with a response message when the person has been added as an UFO user to Laturi.
  4. The updates take effect after the next overnight run, usually the following morning at 9 a.m. After this time, the person can be added to the roles of main supervisor, supervisor and reviewer in Laturi. If the update did not take effect after 9 a.m. the morning following the addition, please contact Laturi support (laturi@oulu.fi).

UFO user account’s access rights will remain valid as long as the UFO user account is held by the individual. If it is desired to remove the UFO user from Laturi earlier, please notify Laturi support.
