Tables

All tables must follow the table formats presented in the Acta instructions. 

Make sure that the tables are easy to understand and structurally simple. If a table is complex or has multiple header rows, ensuring accessibility is difficult. Instead of building a large and complex table, it is better to divide the contents into two or more different tables and title them correctly. 

The following accessibility requirements must be considered in the tables: 

• The table must have a header row.
• Screen readers must be able to read cells in a consistent order from left to right and top to bottom. 
• The table must be regular: each row has the same number of cells, i.e. each column has the same number of rows.
• If it is necessary to use split or merged cells, ensure the table reading order.
• Do not use tables converted into images, as accessibility tools cannot interpret images.
• Tables cannot be used to layout text, images, etc.
